Cheers to Yellowface! If you had not already read it, I would have suggested that you read it! I think you should definitely write a longer review from the perspective of an Asian woman reading Yellowface. 😏
Oh man, I LOVED Yellowface, and The Berry Pickers made my top 10 list. Demon Copperhead ruined all other books for me for a solid week (like nothing was good enough!). I'm a definite feminist, but Weyward annoyed me for its awful portrayal of all men (I get that it was making a point, but it was too heavy-handed for me). And I'm so intrigued by Pride and Joy, can't wait to check it out!
Lol just a week? I think Demon Copperhead might have ruined other novels for me for the rest of the year :D...
Yeah that's a good point about Weyward. Totally see where you're coming from, and I've been pondering why it didn't bother me. Maybe some combination of a) since there's magic in the book, I didn't expect it to portray our world precisely as it is? b) it took me a minute, but I've thought of 3 non-awful men - the juror and the friend in the 1600s story, and the brother in the 1900s story (I'm being vague so as not to give spoilers!), and c) I think I appreciated the point I felt like the author was making, which is not necessarily that all men are bad but that strong independent women tend to bring out the worst in some (insecure, controlling) men. Anyhow, you got me thinking, so thank you!
Yes, you're right about the juror and the brother! I read it for a book club and there was lots to discuss. And I think that's a great insight about strong independent women bringing out the worst in men. It certainly can ring true in real life!

I know, right? And what a great book club choice!! Much to discuss, indeed!
